Careers

At Lift Four Dwellings Primary, we are passionate about raising the aspirations of our pupils so that they can reach their full potential by embracing challenges and opportunities.

Intent

At Lift Four Dwellings Primary, our Careers and Aspirations curriculum (RISE) is designed to inspire every child to believe that their future is full of possibility.  We aim to broaden pupils’ horizons, nurture ambition and help them to understand the link between learning, personal growth and life opportunities beyond school.  Through purposeful experiences, encounters with role models and exposure to a wide range of careers, cultures and community contributions, we help children to see that success takes many forms and is achievable through effort, curiosity, and resilience.

We want pupils to develop the skills, attitudes and confidence to set themselves goals and to see themselves as active participants in their own futures.  We aim to deliberately challenge stereotypes and ensure that all pupils — regardless of background, gender, or need — can see themselves represented in the possibilities we explore.  By fostering a strong sense of self-belief and responsibility, we wish to empower children to make positive choices, value education, and aspire to make a difference in their world.

Vision

At Lift Four Dwellings Primary we aim to raise the aspirations of our pupils and their families through our careers development programme ‘RISE’ - Raising Inspiration for Successful Employment. We foster an environment that inspires and empowers pupils to explore their potential, setting ambitious goals and developing the skills necessary for a successful and fulfilling future.   We aim to challenge stereotypes in career choices and aspirations as this is vital to promoting diversity and breaking down barriers in the professional world.  We encourage individuals to pursue their aspirations without limitations. Through our RISE programme, we utilise the curriculum, engage the community and create contacts to set the stage for the future where pupils and families are motivated, well-prepared and equipped to pursue their passions and contribute meaningfully to society.
