Our library is at the heart of our school - a welcoming and thriving space for our pupils and their families to enjoy reading. It promotes reading for pleasure by offering cosy and comfortable reading nooks to enjoy a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, picture and poetry books.
We offer opportunities for paired reading, recommended reads and "Bookflix" recommendations. This allows our pupils to have a voice and to share their experiences of books with their peers. Our pupils enjoy using our school library, and we are proud of how it contributes to school improvement and pupils’ learning.
Beyond our main school library, each classroom is equipped with its own classroom library; all designed to be welcoming and inviting.
The texts in each classroom are age-appropriate to the year group and our children have the opportunity to select from this range to use as a home reading book or an additional reading for pleasure book.
All pupils have the opportunity to enjoy reading in their classroom library.
